I am a Life coach, NLP Practitioner, and DBT facilitator. My practice focuses on family wellbeing and in particular, life coaching for Teens and Parent Coaching. I chose to focus my practice around family bonding and stability, based on my own personal journey. Life as a young girl and teenager was very challenging for me and I feel that this lead to continued difficulties in my adult life.
Through this blog, I hope to share my past and present challenges and joys in life, to help others heal and shine a light on depression and the tools we can use to enrich our lives and the lives of our families.
I have a daughter of 15 years old and a son of 8 years old. Life has had its major challenges in raising my two children, but through these up’s and down’s, I have learned a lot. I sought out a parenting coach when my son was much younger and this introduced me to my passion for helping other parents. I am thankful that I am a life coach, giving me the tools to help my daughter through her teenage years and beyond.
A few years ago I had a nervous breakdown and ended up being hospitalised. While in the hospital I discovered three things. Firstly, group therapy is far more therapeutic than the years of one on one psychotherapy, that I had endured. The second was that most of my therapy was focused around my childhood, and lastly, I noticed how many people just need support in their lives.
I decided not to return to corporate and to become a life coach and now that I have formalised my knowledge with training, I can continue my passion of helping others.
I’d like to thank my husband for his constant support, he is my lifeline, and could not have gotten this far without him.
